My main research interests lie in the field of condition monitoring of automation systems and their corresponding software development.
Condition monitoring is a fundamental technology to maximize operational productivity by predicting potential fault occurrences that lead to the unavailability of the automation systems. Today, performing condition monitoring is successfully achieved using custom-developed software solutions. However, the development of these software solutions is a challenging task as it requires extensive knowledge from multiple engineering disciplines, i.e., mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. Currently, processes and tools supporting an interdisciplinary development of condition monitoring software are still missing. In this context, my work is to provide these segments (processes and tools) by making the whole domain-specific development an easier task to understand and follow by utilizing the model-driven engineering approach.
Moreover, as a research associate at Fraunhofer IEM, I am responsible for the acquisition and implementation of research- and industry-related projects within my research field – both national (German, e.g., BMBF) and international (e.g., EU Funding programs – Horizon, Interreg, etc.). Therefore, please do contact me for the collaborations on this matter.
Research Interests keywords: model-driven engineering, condition monitoring, automation systems, district heating and cooling systems, rotating equipment, key performance indicators, software engineering, agile methodology.
